Information Paper Subject: Military OneSource (MOS) Event Support Evaluation

Purpose:

To ensure that each request for MOS event support is given standardized consideration when determining levels of event support to include train-the trainer, promotional materials only, or sending an MOS representative on-site. Each event request is evaluated on several criteria to include but not limited to the estimated attendees, presentation opportunity, and availability of representatives. Additional details around assessing the level of Military OneSource support for event requests are outlined below.

Key Points:

Event Support Consideration Criteria:

  1. Post Deployment Health Reassessment (PDHRA) events, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, or similar events where service members are required to visit each display, booth, or table are given priority.
  2. Units deploying to, or returning from unusually high stress assignments or combat operations.
  3. Units having experienced casualties in combat, multiple deployments, or recent suicides. Also includes units or commands at greater risk of personal stress or domestic challenges (e.g. recruiting commands).
  4. Military installations with a high deployment rate.
  5. Guard and Reserve events are given priority for on-site support.
  6. Events that target audiences, such as Command Staff and Senior Leadership Spouses, Regional Directors, and Family Readiness Group Leaders due to the high level of outreach impact.
  7. Events estimating less than 100 attendees, absent of deployment or reintegration support will be offered a train-the-trainer and promotional materials.
  8. Consideration is made of the availability of local active duty installation or Guard and Reserve unit family program staff or military leadership to provide the on-site Military OneSource subject matter expertise.
